altar of repose
Another phone camera shot, because I was more concerned about mood and I didn’t have my other camera at hand. The beautiful altar of repose of the Blessed Sacrament at Church of the Ascension, Chicago on the night of Maundy Thursday.
A rare moment: Burberry the cat napping peacefully on top of the bed (instead of under the prayer desk), nestled in my nap fleece blanket. In a word: adorable!

holy week at home
It is the custom of the parish I go to to veil all images of Our Lord Jesus Christ during Holy Week. I observe this custom at home as well, and veil all images of Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary (who is often depicted holding the Christ child, aka an image of Jesus). This is the prayer table in our second bedroom, as it looks during Holy Week. Red is the liturgical color for the week, so the red stole is hung as well. Why the veils? It shows that for a time, the world seemed to triumph over Our Lord. They come off at Easter to celebrate the triumph over death that is the Resurrection.
I was an April fool
The first official day that I didn’t take any image, or could find no image or project or any record of having worked on anything. I guess the joke was on me! (Sad smiley face)
It’s a blurry detail picture of my bedroom area rug. No big whup!
bows and barrettes, barrettes and bows
Went to my sister and brother-in-law’s house on Friday to celebrate my niece’s 5th birthday. As I was getting ready for bed, I noticed this tangle of my niece’s hair bows and barrettes. An unintentional piece of “fabric art”, designed purely to keep track of all her hairpieces, hung on her bathroom door= a striking subject for a photograph. Happy 5th Birthday, Sloane!
